Use Custom SQL in Advanced Report
Advanced Reporting will be removed from the product in a future release. Device42 is in the process of adding all of its capabilities to Standard Reports and Insights+, so no reporting capabilities will be lost. Use those features for any new reports.
Administrators can hide the Advanced Reporting menu for all users.
Advanced Reporting lets you create and schedule complex reports using custom SQL objects. You can combine the built-in reports and features with your own custom SQL to pre-process and transform data as part of your query.
Create an Advanced Report Using Custom SQL
-
Navigate to Analytics > Reports > Advanced Reporting.
-
Add a new Advanced Report and give it a name.
-
Skip the category selection and click the Add SQL button at the bottom right.
-
Name your SQL object, then enter your query in the Custom SQL Object form. Select a unique key field from the dropdown at the bottom of the window (required). Click Okay twice.

All categories are now greyed out, as the SQL query replaces category selection.
-
Go to the Layout tab and use the report designer to choose which fields to include in the report.
-
Click Finish to save. You can edit, run, sort, or filter the report at any time.
