Below are the steps to create the Device42 Active Directory settings and to add AD users as Administrators for device42. Please note that there are no Active directory credentials stored in the device42 application. You will need to enter valid domain user credentials each time before you can search for a user.
Add Active Directory Settings
Go to Tools > Settings > Active Directory Settings and enter and save the settings for your domain. You can test these setting using the Test Active Directory Authentication section at the bottom of the AD settings page.
Active Directory User Add
To add a user, go to the Tools > Admins & Permissions > Administrators > Add Active Directory Admin (see screenshot below)
Enter a valid domain user and password to search the AD. Then enter the exact AD username for the user to be added, and click Search User.
If the Base DN and AD settings are correct, it will return the user from the Active Directory. You can click Add User to add that AD user as a device42 Administrator.
Next you will be presented with the user edit page where you can assign permissions etc. to the user and save.
