The Reports > Dashboards menu entry enables you to display and create dashboards for various objects.
In this example, there are three saved Subnet Dashboards, one showing data by VRF Group, one by Customer, and one by Region. Region is a custom field not a Device42-supplied field.
If you click the “Display on Screen” link, you will see the generated dashboard…
The first chart is self-explanatory. It shows the number of subnets for each customer, vrf group, or region depending on which dashboard was selected.
The second chart requires some explanation. By default, the percent assigned calculation is done by dividing the numbers of IPs marked as available in the subnet divided by the total number of IPs in the subnet. However, some customers have requested the ability to do their own calculation of percent assigned. If you want to do your own calculation, first go to Tools / Settings / Global Settings.
If you check the “Use Subnet Assignment Field” box, it will give you the opportunity to mark subnets as “assigned” or not based on whatever algorithm you want. You can do mark the fields through the import/export facility (or the API). If you go to Tools / Import/Export and choose the Download Current Data option in the Update Subnets row, you will get a spreadsheet that has an “assigned” column. Simply enter ‘yes’ if the subnet is assigned and ‘no’ if it’s not assigned. The Subnet Dashboard will then compute % assigned based on these values.
## Creating a new dashboard
If you click the “Add Dashboard” link, you will see a list of the available dashboard types. Initially, there is just one dashboard available, the Subnet Dashboard. Additional dashboards will follow.
When you choose a dashboard (e.g. the Subnet Dashboard), you will be presented with exactly the same filter choices that you get for a report (e.g. the Subnet Report).
